The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) has dismissed reports that Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume was arrested, confirming that he was only invited for questioning and released. ZACC says only former Harare South MP Shadreck Mashayamombe and Deputy Mayor Rosemary Muronda were arrested over alleged fraud linked to the illegal sale of council land. Mashayamombe faces fraud charges, while Muronda is accused of criminal abuse of office. Investigations are ongoing, with two other senior council officials still being sought.
